Welcome to my blog - I am a mixed media artist mainly working in acrylic paint, and adding paper, inks, glitter, impasto, sand, beads, pastels and whatever takes my fancy! I also create watercolour and ink illustrations, which can be bought unframed, and are also made into greeting cards. I take commissions, if you want something that may have already sold, or you would like something original or in another size or colour.

Open Studio 30th October 2016
I will be having an open studio on Sunday 30th October as part of the Queanbeyan Art Trail 2016. Come along and see and or purchase some of my artworks, cards, prints and jewellery that I will have available!! I'll be open 10:00am - 4:00pm.
New....Indian head dress....
I started this mixed media piece by putting the first layers down on the background (actually there were several layers). I had the idea of an indian head dress floating around my mind for quite awhile, so I did a sketch first to get it clearer in my mind. I then just 'went' with the colours of pink, red, oranges and aqua for the feathers....nothing was really planned, I just plodded along. At one point I was really not 'feeling' it, and wanted to just paint over it! However, I perservered and here is the finished product! I ended up making its matching 'pair' that can be hung together or solo. They are both created with acrylic paints, paper, beads, stencils and ink.

New....Vase of Flowers...
I finally was able to finish this one the other week after many changes to the background, vase itself and the leaves....I think it is finally done!!
It is acrylic on canvas measuring 24 x 24 inch (61 x 61cm).

Black Cats...Prints
Watercolour fun with blacks, greys and blue....colours I don't usually work with! But, I have been experimenting and I think I am in love with these ones!!! What do you all think? I was inspired with the 'sparkles' and 'stars' from looking at the night sky and noticing how beautiful it is on a clear winters night! Im seriously going to add this effect with some other watercolours Im thinking of doing in other colours. I do still really love the 'rainbow ones' Ive done previously, but getting addicted to these as well! Im planning on having sets for sale (whether they are in two's/three's or sets of 4 different ones). Its a little difficult to get much painting done while on school holidays, but will fit in when I can. Actually, I think I might add some splatter to the two little cat faces...another little add on I usually paint onto my watercolour silhouettes. Happy days! Cheers!

To use this artwork or ANY other of my artworks in paint nights, workshops or for any type of purpose or any kind of paint party type gatherings, for profit or otherwise, please contact me on juliemryder01@gmail.com for permission.
Cost to use this artwork in a ONE TIME only use, for not-for-profit agencies or persons holding painting gatherings of no more than 10 people, is a fee of $50.00 minimum (There are terms and conditions to this fee and it does not apply to all persons. Those running businesses and companies for paint nights, sip and create paint nights etc, please contact me for licensing agreement).
I also ask that if you HAVE gained permission to use this artwork or ANY of my artworks, to please refrain posting on social media, any tutorial or how to type photo's or video's, using any of my designs or images. That is also copyright. I am enforcing this as I have had numerous issues with copyright and people outright using images of my artwork and also my design to sell paint parties etc.
Failure to ask and obtain permission and use my artwork without it, is breach of copyright, and legal action will be taken. I also have the right to refuse anyone the right to use my artworks and designs.
