The Flower Meadow near the Sea.....Mixed Media on Canvas..

What a pleasure this piece was to make!  It measures 15 x 30 inches, and I have used acrylic paints, paper, fabric, glitter glue, beads and buttons.  I just love all the bright colours of the flowers and they make me feel very uplifted!  I will put this on my Etsy store soon, when it has dried and I have put a clear varnish on it.  Its priced at $285 plus delivery (I now deliver international as well!).

Here you can see the 3D effect of the flowers....

Two New Heart Shaped Acrylics on Watercolour Paper...

Good Evening!  The following two new paintings I have done the other day, are of acrylics, glitter glue and ink painted on watercolour paper ready to frame!  They are painted on A4 paper, and are bright and vibrant, painted with a flower meadow in the shape of a heart, from my "Flower Meadow" series I paint of canvas.  They are both in my Etsy story now, priced at $65 each.  I will eventually do prints of them.    I think I might do some more in different colours as well.
They would look lovely in a white frame with a white matt border.  Don't forget, for those living locally to me (ACT or Queanbeyan area) that I do Workshop classes learning how to create a canvas in my 'Flower Meadow' range....

This one is done with a teal and mauve background, graduating in yellow down to green, with coordinating 'flowers' done in similiar colours.

Two New Mixed Media Canvas Paintings for your girls room!

Good evening everyone!  I have two new pieces of artwork that would look lovely in a little girls room!  The one below measures 30 x 15 inches and priced at $120 AUD.  I have used acrylic paints, impasto paste, fabric, felt and rhinestones.  This is from my Birds of a Feather series.  I believe it is probably the last one left!  Please contact me via email  juliemryder01@gmail.com if you are interested in purchasing this.

The 'wings' of the birds and their 'eyes' are hand stitched!

This 12 x 16 inch mixed media is from my Clothesline series....I have used acrylic paint, fabric, rhinestones, buttons, miniature pegs and ribbon.  This is priced at $65 AUD.

In this photo you can see the 3D effect of the 'clothes' on the line. :)

Finniabair inspired Mixed Media on Canvas....

Hi everyone,
Well after watching some really cool youtube videos I came across this fabulous and unique artist called   Finnabair (Anna Dobrowska).   From her video, I decided to have a go myself, using all sorts of junk, odds and ends (stuff out of my two young boys drawers, that they tend to collect like bottle tops, screws etc).  I also went to a trash and treasure market and picked up some bits and pieces like brass letters and numbers and went to my husbands workshop where he is a cabinetmaker, and he kindly directed me to his scrap drawer.  I was able to pick up door knobs, heaps of screws and the like.  I also scavenged in my stash, stuff like thick twine, silk flowers, a domino, buttons and old beads.   It was awesome and relaxing fun!  I will have to post before and during pics for my next one I do I think, because I really went to town sticking stuff down, but not thinking it would turn out like this!  The picture is of a beautiful beach at Tuross Head at the South Coast taken about 8 or 9 years ago!  I remember it was at Easter time and was quite a chilly day.  I just blew it up a bit larger and mod podged it to protect it while I did everything else.

The canvas measures 16 x 12 inch.

I just love the antique look and feel it gives to the whole painting.

Can you see the door knobs and the domino!  Those round, squashed looking bottle tops are just that!  By boys decided one day to spend hours with a hammer flattening bottle tops!  So I have heaps of those!

I love this photo!  I think I will do one each for my two boys using stuff in their junk drawers that reflect stuff they like to collect!!!  I just told them, and they are so excited and have started collecting more stuff for me!

Princess mixed media on canvas...

Good evening all!  Well, what fun I had making this latest piece!  This 20 x 30 inch canvas was one of those paintings that originally was something else that I didn't like and painted this over the top of it !! One of my favourite  parts is the 3D birdcage I made (was a little time consuming though!). I also love the fabric flowers on her dress and in her hair and the 3D effect on the butterflies.  I used acrylic paints, impasto for her hair, paper, fabric, beads, pastels, ribbon and glitter glue.  This is a one of a kind piece I think!
The quote reads "if nothing ever changed then there would be no butterflies"....kind of like my life at the moment!  Change, although a good thing sometimes, is also a little scary! :)
